The park is located adjacent to the Great Otway National Park and the Bay of Islands Coastal Park. The Port Campbell National Park features an array of sheer cliffs overlooking offshore islets, rock stacks, gorges, arches, and blowholes. However, fragile grasslands and heath lands are still able to develop, supporting plant species such as sun orchid and spider orchid. The fauna in the park is largely ornithological and includes honey eaters, southern emu and fairy wrens, swamp harriers, rufous bristle bird, peregrine falcons, pelicans, ducks, dark swans and egrets. Australasian gannets, wandering albatrosses and short tailed shear waters live out at sea. Land animals in the park include southern brown bandicoot, swamp antechinuse and echidna. Their proximity to one another has made the site a popular tourist attraction. Three effortless walks have been developed at Foch Ar Gorge to permit you the chance to discover the areas’ natural treasures. See this natural rock formation formed through erosion, at its superior during harsh seas when the waves crash in and around the arch. Take in an excellent view back towards the 12 Apostles. The name Gibson Steps refers to the staircase leading down to the stretch of beach shown to the right. The Bay of Martyrs is an open, 2.5 km long, southwest facing bay containing abundant reefs and sea stacks. The shoreline is calm predominantly of 10 m high, red limestone bluffs. Within the bay are considerable smaller bays and beaches, two of which are named Massacre Bay and Crofts Bay. The main Bay of Martyrs Beach lies at the eastern last of the bay. It is 500 m long, faces southwest and is backed by a mixture of irregular bluffs and dunes, with the Immense Ocean Road just behind. There is a vehicle park and beach access at the eastern end.
